8 Tips To Stay Motivated And Accomplish Your Goals.

Achieving your goals are seldom easy. They can often feel far-fetched, and you can begin to lose sight of the end result. Today I wanted to share 8 tips I use to stay motivated.

1. Set Long & Short Term Goals-Although we are always shooting for the big picture, its helpful if you set checkpoints in between to stay focus. In doing so you allow yourself a chance to celebrate even the small accomplishments. Because after all small steps are still steps forward.

2. Speak Positive Affirmations-Words have a strong force. Regardless of what is going on, or where you are in life. The words that you think and say have the power to direct your path. Everyday write a positive affirmation. Post it as your screensaver, or tape it to your desk at work. Keep it in sight, if you ever lose focus, your words will help to pull you through. 

3. Listen to / or Read Positive Information-Whether you enjoy reading or listening to podcast. What ever you do to fill your free time–Keep it POSITIVE! The more positive information you take in, the more you have to put out. 

4. Surround Yourself With Positive People-This a big one. Whether you realize it or not the people that surround you are a direct reflection of who you are and where you are in life. Take a step back take a look at the people that surround you. What are they talking about, what are they working towards daily. If the results aren’t the best yours won’t be either.

5. Control What You Can, Don’t Worry About The Rest-In life there’s only so many things you can control. Learn to let go when things or situations start to spiral. Don’t allow yourself to become so emotionally entangled that you stunt your progress. Things won’t always work out perfectly how you’ve planned it. But trust that they will work out.

6. Be Optimistic-Wake up with an attitude of expectancy. Be hopeful and know that everyday will be great! Every step you take today is a step closer to your goal!

7. Reward Yourself-My favorite saying is “Treat YO-SELF”! Rewards play a huge part in staying motivated. Reward yourself with each milestone you make. The reward could be as simple as going to your favorite restaurant, or watching your favorite movie with a pint of your favorite ice cream. Rewards could also be as big as taking a weekend getaway or buying those expensive shoes you’ve been eyeing. Reward yourself you are worth it!

8. Pray-Last, but certainly not least pray. The Lord is always at hand “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Let your request be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mind! (Phillippans 4:6) God is faithful and all knowing submit your request in prayer and leave all your concerns and anxieties behind. Have faith that all will work out according to his plan!

Staying motivated to reach your goals is not easy, but if you work on it daily, have a positive attitude and mind you can shift your entire life!
